When a song is written, there are usually only 7 chords or less. Now, of course there are exceptions. But the premise of the 7 Theory is that there really are ONLY 7 chords in 95% of the songs you're listening to and playing and our goal is get you to hear chord for the number that it is. For example, when you play a song in the Key of G, that has a chord progression of G to C, you're actually playing 1 to 4 given the G major scale has 7 notes and 7 basic chords if you remove the octave (8) G: G Am Bm C D Em D/F#. The G is the 1st chord (root/tonic) and the C is the 4th chord. How do you know whether to make them minor or major? How do you know what notes are in each scale?
